Debbie Blacks, a 26-year-old of Tucber Park, New Amsterdam, Berbice, died after she was given a poisonous substance to drink by her 22-year-old girlfriend, identified as Belinda Fraser, called Bella of Lot 222 Mayor and Town Council Housing Scheme, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 01, 2024, at about 02:30h at Fraser’s residence.
Blacks and Fraser have reportedly shared an intimate relationship for some time. However, Fraser was in love with another female and wanted to leave Blacks.
While Blacks was at the residence of the 22-year-old, an argument erupted between the two.
Fraser then threw a poison substance into two champagne glasses and said to Blacks: “Let’s drink poison, and we’ll be together after death.”
The woman reportedly poured it into two champagne glasses and gave one to Blacks. The 26-year-old drank the substance while Fraser took a sip and allegedly spit it out before drinking some milk.
Both of the women were taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital. The police were then alerted, and upon arrival, Blacks told cops that Fraser wanted them to drink the substance. She also told relatives what transpired
Blacks succumbed on Wednesday, October 02, 2024. Fraser is currently hospitalized. An investigation has been launched.
