Head of State, President Irfaan Ali formally accepted the Letters of Credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Joseph Angeles, during a ceremony at State House on Wednesday.
The event marked a significant step in the diplomatic relations between Guyana and the Philippines, with discussions centered on fostering collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, and human resource development.
Also in attendance at the ceremony was the Honourable Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the two nations for mutual benefit. The engagement reflects both countries’ commitment to enhancing cooperation and exploring opportunities for growth in strategic areas.
