Police ranks in Bartica have benefited from comprehensive body camera training as part of the Guyana Police Force’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency, investigative capabilities, and transparency in law enforcement.
The training session, held on Tuesday, 22nd October 2024, was led by Constable Bristol of the Information Technology (IT) department and focused on the operation, use, and maintenance of newly acquired body cameras.

The training, conducted at the Zara Training Center at Bartica Police Station, is a key component of the Force’s initiative to familiarise officers with the functionality of the new devices. Officers received detailed instructions on how to operate the body cameras, including their ability to capture digital, audio, and video evidence.
Among the senior officers in attendance were Senior Superintendent D. Moore, Commander of Regional Police Division #7; A.S.P. D. Handy, Deputy Commander of Region Division #7; Inspector C. Bacchus, Community Relations Officer; J. Henry, DDI; Traffic Officer T. Griffith; and Assistant Superintendent Chaitram. A total of 25 officers participated in the training.
The body cameras will be decentralised across the region for use in operations, investigations, and patrols, enhancing accountability and evidence collection throughout police activities in the area.
