Mikhail Rodrigues, popularly known as “Guyanese Critic,” was granted $100,000 bail after being charged with unlawfully wounding Brian Persaud, an electrician from Berbice, during an altercation at the Montra Restaurant and Lounge in Kitty. Persaud, who was also charged in connection with the incident, was placed on $75,000 bail.
The men appeared yesterday before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where they both pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The incident occurred on 30 September 2024, outside the Montra venue, located at the intersection of Lamaha and Pike streets.
Persaud is being represented by attorney Damien DaSilva, while Rodrigues is represented by attorneys Bernard DaSilva and Sanjeev Datadin. The matter has been adjourned to 28 October 2024.
