The body of 47-year-old Theodore Baynes, known as ‘Silver,’ was discovered outside his residence at Lot 40 Haslington North, East Coast Demerara, on Monday, according to reports. Baynes, a carpenter and father of one, was found with multiple severe injuries, including a crushed face, a deep wound to his neck, and several cuts across his back and other parts of his body.Latha Solomon, a cousin of the deceased, disclosed that around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, she and other relatives were informed of the police presence at Baynes’ home. Upon arriving at the scene, Solomon encountered three plainclothes Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers and a uniformed officer securing the area. After identifying herself, Solomon was permitted a brief view of Baynes’ body. However, she was informed that the premises were being treated as a crime scene.The police have since made an arrest in connection with the incident and are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the official cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
