Henrietta man held with unlicensed firearm

Cleon Alphonso, a 32-year-old unemployed resident of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast, was apprehended at around 09:15 hrs this morning by Police ranks on mobile patrol duty in the vicinity of the Anna Regina Police Headquarters. He was found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm. Alphonso, who was observed walking on the road, was stopped by the patrol ranks. A search was carried out on his person, and he was found to be in possession of a firearm with one magazine (without ammunition). Alphonso was asked if he was a licensed firearm holder, and he said, “no.” He was then told of the offence committed, cautioned and arrested. He remains in custody pending charges.
