Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips joined thousands of Guyanese at the annual Emancipation Day celebrations at the National Park.
During his visit, he engaged with patrons and exhibitors before heading to the Emancipation Celebration and Expo, organised by the Association of People of African Descent, at the Sophia Exhibition Center.
In his Interactions, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of Emancipation Day, noting the invaluable contributions of Africans to Guyanese society. He also stressed the importance of national unity, commitment to cultural preservation, and equitable development for all citizens.
Mrs. Mignon Bowen-Phillips, several Cabinet members, and other officials accompanied the Prime Minister.
