rime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips met with Rodney Taylor, Secretary-General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), at his office on Camp Street this afternoon. The meeting centered on the ongoing fourth International ICT Forecast and Preparatory Meeting hosted by Guyana.
As the government official responsible for the nation’s telecommunications sector, Prime Minister Phillips was joined by Shahrukh Hussain, Director of the Industry and Innovation Unit, and Andre Griffith, Director of the Telecommunications Agency. Discussions explored the potential for CTU to leverage its resources and expertise to advance Guyana’s national telecommunications agenda, particularly in areas related to regulatory matters.
The CTU, an intergovernmental organization, plays a pivotal role in promoting the development of the regional telecommunications sector.
