The Private Sector Commission (PSC) and the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) have jointly announced a strategic travel mission, culminating in the upcoming Pure Grenada Expo. The initiative, spearheaded by Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, aims to strengthen trade, commerce, and tourism ties between Guyana and Grenada.
According to a release from the PSC, the Pure Grenada Expo will take place on August 29 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This event, open to the public at no cost, will showcase Grenada’s rich cultural heritage, spices, and tourism offerings. Attendees can look forward to rum and chocolate tastings, cultural displays, and a variety of exhibits highlighting the unique aspects of Grenadian culture.
The mission also coincides with the launch of a new direct flight route between Grenada and Guyana by interCaribbean Airways, set to commence around September 28. This weekly flight is expected to significantly boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two nations.
PSC Chairman Komal Singh hailed the collaboration as “a significant step in expanding our bilateral trade and cultural exchanges,” emphasising the new opportunities it presents. He encouraged local businesses and stakeholders to actively participate in the Expo and engage in the strategic discussions that will take place during the mission.
The PSC in making the announcement urges broad participation in these events, which promise to further solidify the growing relationship between Guyana and Grenada.
