Teacher charged for trafficking narcotics

Psyiffia Boodram, a 24-year-old teacher from Lot 4 Public Road, Ruimveldt, who was arrested on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, for possession of narcotics with the intent to traffic, in violation of Section 5 (1) (a) (i) of the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (Control) Act Chapter 10:10, has since been formally charged.
She appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court Two on Friday, May 31, 2024, before Principal Magistrate Ms. Leron Daly. The charge was formally read to her in court.
Boodram entered a plea of ‘not guilty’ and was subsequently remanded to prison. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 21, 2024.
