The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will officially launch its 2024 Diwali Programme with the ‘Deep Jale’ event, a vibrant light display at the Kitty Seawall Roundabout, commencing at 18:00 hrs today, Saturday, October 19th.While there are no road closures, motorists and all road users are advised to exercise heightened awareness during the event.
A significant crowd is expected, which will result in increased foot traffic between the roundabout and the avenue separating Vlissengen Road and JB Singh Road, where the Diwali village is located.
Traffic heading west along Public Road Kitty will exit onto Vlissingen Road, proceeding south towards Thomas Lands or Lamaha Street. Eastbound traffic on Carifesta Avenue will continue to the Kitty Roundabout, with further exit options available eastward.
The Kingston/Kitty Seawall Road will facilitate eastbound traffic exiting onto Clive Lloyd Drive.No parking will be permitted along the roundabout or in its immediate vicinity. Parking is allowed only on the shoulders of Vlissengen Road and JB Singh Road. Vehicles parked improperly will be subject to clamping or towing.
Traffic personnel will be present to ensure the efficient movement of all road users during the Deep Jale celebrations. Road users are encouraged to plan accordingly and exercise caution throughout the event.
