United States Ambassador to Guyana, Nicole Theriot, recently met with Detective Superintendent Prem Narine and Assistant Superintendent Rodwell Sarrabo of the Guyana Police Force, following their participation in the U.S. government-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) focused on “Protecting Soft Targets against Terrorist Attacks.”
The program, designed to enhance global counterterrorism efforts, allowed participants to assess terrorism prevention programs and evaluate counterterrorism strategies that could be effectively implemented in their home countries. During the meeting, Ambassador Theriot reaffirmed the U.S. Government’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Guyana, particularly in the areas of safety and security. She emphasised the importance of the involvement of officers like Narine and Sarrabo in addressing shared challenges between the two nations.
The U.S. Embassy in Georgetown also extended its congratulations to the two officers, welcoming them to the U.S. Department of State alumni network. In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Embassy said, “Welcome to the U.S. Department of State alumni network, Prem and Rodwell.”
