Dear Editor,
I am a Berbician who travels frequently to and from Georgetown and for about five years now, there has been a metal barricade at the Weldaad Police Station.
I fully support the police for having a roadblock. It’s a good way to catch criminals. But these barricades are left blocking the road even when there is no police officer conducting the roadblock exercise.
Rarely would I see them move it. It’s there 99% of the time I’m passing there. Many persons have driven into it by accident- even a popular social media personality.
Why can’t they move this barricade off the road once there is no roadblock exercise? Isn’t this common sense? Must we wait till some horrific accident happens? Whoever is managing this aspect of policing is very lackadaisical.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rajesh Singh
